RapidSOS and Apple Partner to Help with Emergency Location Identification

In 2015, Apple initiated HELO (Hybridized Emergency Location) a protocol that helps identify a callers’ location using various data such as wifi access points, GPS and cell phone towers. This has now been further developed by RapidSOS to send the data via secure channels to emergency call rooms.

Heart Study app could be Apple’s first FDA-cleared product

The Apple Heart Study — which began enrollment at the end of November — has now begun data collection, with participants receiving prompts over the weekend to sign informed consent documents and initiate data collection.
