FundamentalVR recently rolled out its new software, Fundamental Surgery, which incorporates VR and haptic sensors. The London based company intends to give hands-on training to young surgeons by virtually performing and experiencing surgical procedures which they would otherwise learn by observing senior surgeons.
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Teesside University researchers helped organize a ‘hackathon’ on 4 and 5 July 2018 at Brunel University in London with an aim to develop virtual reality (VR) tools for patients.
Using the virtual reality (VR) platform, doctors can show patients, in an immersive, highly detailed way, what will happen to their bodies if they take their medication, stop smoking, and eat better — and what will happen if they don't.
