Sanofi has found yet another partner to help digitize its clinical trial processes. In a statement, TriNetX announced that it will be assisting the pharmaceutical company by using patient EHRs to optimize recruitment, streamline trial investigators’ workflows, and otherwise impact the design of investigational drug trials. Sanofi has made similar arrangements to bolster its clinical trials with Science 37 and Evidation in March and July of last year, respectively.
Chronic diseases and health conditions are often incurable and can adversely impact the longevity and quality of a person’s life if not managed actively. The wide prevalence of these conditions along with the fact that they are often preventable and frequently manageable with early detection and with the right health practices, calls for more focus on empowering patients in ongoing self-care.

Poorly-designed EHR systems combined with human error have resulted in patient safety problems in an increasing number of malpractice claims from 2007-2016.
