Frequent Consumption of Seafood Might Aid in Conceiving

In our modern lifestyles, getting pregnant has become much tougher due to factors such as stress, poor diet and bad health condition.

A recent scientific study led by Audrey Gaskins, a nutrition researcher at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, revealed that couples have frequent sex and conceive quickly, if both of them consume more than two servings of seafood such as salmon, shrimp etc. every week. These findings uncover the importance of diet for maximum fertility. But still, not much research has been done to discover the link between seafood and fertility.

The research team suggested that the omega-3 fatty acids present in seafood such as sardines and salmon could have positive effects on ovulation quality in women and semen quality in men.

Some previous research studies reported the negative effects of seafood such as exposure to dangerous chemicals like mercury which is why women tend to avoid seafood during pregnancy. But in the research work conducted by Audrey Gaskins, there was one more striking feature. More older women were becoming pregnant and the duration of becoming pregnant after seafood consumption was very quick on an average.
