The UK Based, Wasdell Group a leading service provider for the pharma and medical industries, is planning to invest $671,000 to support its pharma manufacturing through a laboratory project; before the end of this year, the company is also planning to move into sterile manufacturing.

The company announced, its new 1,200 square-foot facilities at the Newcastle site will support its manufacturing, quality control, and packaging teams, and it will also help them to give in-house analytical and microbiological services to its customers.

Managing director of Wasdell, Mr. Daniel Tedham, said in a statement. “We’ve witnessed a significant increase in demand for analytical support from our existing clients and the investment in our microbiological competence has been steered by our well-organized move into the manufacture of sterile products later this year”.

The Newcastle expansion follows its recent announcement of the company to build a new €30 million pharmaceutical facility in Dundalk, Ireland, which will offer a variety of current and novel packaging technologies and QC import testing along with storage and distribution.

By this end of the fourth quarter 2018, the company will complete the 70,000 square feet facility to employ 300 people and include serialization technology to meet new orders. Outside the UK it will be the first facility for the company; Wasdell is also planning to release its testing products for the European market at the upcoming hard Brexit event.
