On February 25, temperature control is crucial in the field of aviation cold chain transportation, especially in the transportation of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals. CIMC, headquartered in Shenzhen, announced on the 25th that it had successfully developed the first RAP active temperature-controlled aviation box in China. It not only fills the gap in similar products in China, but also enables "heaven-earth linkage" full-process tracking to ensure that medicines do not lose the "cold chain".
For a long time, Chinese airlines have mainly relied on aviation boxes leased from abroad, which is costly. In 2020, Qingdao CIMC Special Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC Qingdao Refrigerated Special Box"), a subsidiary of CIMC, developed the first RKN active temperature-controlled aviation container in China, breaking the foreign monopoly in one fell swoop. The RKN air box is powered by a battery and uses a refrigeration unit to control the temperature inside the box. Its principle is similar to that of a household refrigerator, but there is a limitation that data cannot be uploaded in real time, and manual inspection is required every 2 hours.
Compared with the RKN air box, the RAP air box has a larger volume, and its biggest highlight is precise temperature control and IoT management.
In terms of temperature uniformity, the project team simulated the wind field through simulation software, and adopted circulating wind uniform air supply technology and structure to ensure uniform temperature distribution inside the box. At the same time, both the battery and the refrigeration unit are equipped with dual backups to add "double insurance" to the stable operation of the equipment. 10 temperature probes are also installed in the box to collect temperature in real time in all directions and without dead ends, ensuring precise temperature control even in complex environments.
Through the IoT management platform, the temperature, humidity and door switch status of the air box can be monitored in real time. After the plane lands, the data will be automatically uploaded to the IoT management platform, and the seamless connection and real-time control of the entire transportation process are achieved through "heaven-earth linkage".
In addition, the CIMC Qing Refrigerated Special Container Aviation Box Project Team has taken measures such as strengthening the insulation of the box, increasing the battery power, and improving the energy efficiency ratio of the refrigeration unit. Under the ambient temperature of -10℃-30℃, the temperature inside the box can be stabilized at 5℃, and the flight time is not less than 30 hours.
CIMC RAP aviation box has also made breakthroughs in lightweight design. It weighs 1040KG, which is lighter than similar foreign products, significantly improving transportation efficiency and economy.
It is understood that the two aviation boxes RAP and RKN are not substitutes, but complements, covering more than 80% of the main domestic aircraft models to meet the needs of different customers. In mid-February this year, CIMC Qing Refrigerated Special Container has shipped a batch of RAP aviation boxes to a domestic airline for empty box transportation trial operation, and will subsequently carry out commercial operations on 5 aircraft models of airlines such as Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines.
