Today, at the 7th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as "CIIE"), Roche Diagnostics China announced that its new molecular detection platform LightCycler® PRO System real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument* (hereinafter referred to as "LightCycler® PRO") was officially launched in China. As the "bright pearl" of modern molecular biology research, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology has continued to lead the development of precision medicine since its birth. As the second-generation PCR technology, real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR has greatly improved the sensitivity and specificity of detection, and has shown unprecedented application value in disease diagnosis, scientific research, genetic analysis, epidemic monitoring and other scenarios in multiple fields such as tumors and infections.

In recent years, when dealing with complex samples or multiple target detection, laboratories have put forward higher requirements for the efficiency, accuracy and flexibility of PCR detection. Roche Diagnostics has a deep insight into the diverse needs and challenges in the current molecular field, and has launched the LightCycler® PRO, which continues the mature technology of its LightCycler® 480, and uses an open platform design to be compatible with a variety of consumables and reagents, providing users with a more flexible and broad application space; at the same time, it realizes innovative evolution, enabling molecular detection in efficiency, accuracy, flexibility and other multi-dimensional technological leaps, adding to the new future of molecular biology.

The new LightCycler® PRO breaks the limitations of traditional technology, is equipped with 7 detection channels, and 28 different combinations of detection modes, can complete 2,688 tests in one hour, and has excellent multiple detection capabilities, improving detection efficiency per unit time and increasing detection diversity. This powerful function has outstanding advantages in multiple target detection application scenarios such as gastrointestinal bacteria. Roche Diagnostics conducted a study on gastrointestinal bacteria detection based on LightCycler® PRO in multiple research centers in Germany. The results showed that LightCycler® PRO can quickly and accurately identify seven gastrointestinal bacterial targets such as Salmonella, Aeromonas, Campylobacter, Plesiomonas, Shigella, and Yersinia in a single test well, and showed excellent sensitivity and specificity.

It is reported that LightCycler® PRO uses the patented Vapor Chamber Mount (VCM) technology and a new temperature control technology of the uniform temperature plate to achieve higher temperature uniformity throughout the multi-well plate, thereby reducing the variability of the test results and minimizing repeated operations to ensure accurate and reliable test results. At the same time, the platform supports the free replacement of 96 or 384-well plates through a flexible modular design, and the corresponding heating covers can also be easily switched, avoiding the cumbersome process of manual correction, and flexibly meeting the needs of diverse laboratories and clinical research.
In addition, LightCycler® PRO is also equipped with a 40 cm large touch screen and equipped with new software to help data management be efficient and reliable. It supports LIS connection and can be remotely accessed via a tablet computer, providing a more convenient and integrated user experience in all aspects.
