Tava’s network of therapists will be added to Health Advocate’s existing network.
"/While the service existed beforehand, the pandemic pushed telehealth into the spotlight. For many patients, it wasn’t just safer to be able to visit a doctor from the comfort of their own home, it was much simpler. This is especially true for patients visiting their regular doctors for recurring conditions. Due to the pre-existing relationship, doctors can often provide the necessary prescriptions based off of a description of symptoms alone.
As the pandemic receded, the value of teletherapy remained. Since then, more and more companies are working to expand access to teletherapy services.
Health Advocate announced that it has partnered with Tava Health to expand its access to telehealth.1 This partnership will allow members of Health Advocate to access Tava Health’s nationwide network of therapists. These new therapists will be added to Health Advocate’s existing network of therapists in order to provide members with faster and more reliable access to treatment.
In a press release, Health Advocate president and CEO Jeff Cordell said, “Emotional and mental health is one of Health Advocate's primary areas of focus, and we are committed to offering innovative solutions and services to help our clients ensure their employees' access to high-quality behavioral health resources. We are thrilled to partner with Tava to expand the options our members have to securely, quickly and easily connect to the care they need. The results we're seeing so far speak to the positive reception from our members, and we look forward to continuing to grow this relationship."
In the same press release, Tava Health CEO and co-founder Dallen Allred said, “Our partnership with Health Advocate amplifies our shared commitment to improving access to mental health care. By integrating Tava's extensive network of licensed therapists with Health Advocate's virtual support program, we're empowering Health Advocate members to meet with a therapist within a day. This collaboration underscores our dedication to breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that everyone can access the support they need for their emotional well-being."
Health Advocate recently announced an addition to its team of medical directors.2
In February of this year, the company announced that Dr. Keri Robertson had joined the team in a key management role related to clinical care management and population health management. She was brought on board due to her expertise in data analytics and understanding the social determinants of health. Robertson is joining Health Advocate from her previous role as a physician quality advisor at Endeavor Health System in Illinois.
In a press release issued at the time, Cordell said, “As Health Advocate continues to improve our industry-leading solutions, Dr. Robertson is perfectly positioned to enhance the quality of support and care for our members who face serious medical issues. Her unique background in quality improvement, enhancing patient experiences and outcomes in marginalized communities, and emergency medicine are instrumental as we launch our best-of-breed Clinical Care Management program, among other new offerings."
In the same press release, Dr. Robertson said, “As an emergency physician, I have unique insight into the challenges of navigating the complexities of the U.S. healthcare system. I am excited to be part of the Health Advocate team where we educate, engage and advocate for our members and assist them on their healthcare journeys."
