Better Sleep Monitoring With SleepScore App

In 2017 Resmed along with partners Dr. Oz Media and Pegasus Capital Advisors announced their new project, SleepScore labs who are best known for  SleepScore Max, their bedside medical device that assists with sleep tracking.

They recently announced the SleepScore app which emits imperceptible sound waves as a sonar system from a smartphone. The sound waves reflect off the user’s body and are relayed back to the smartphones’ microphone. SleepScore’s algorithm then calculates the results and provides a sleep metric measured from 0 to 100 for the quality of sleep.

There is both a free IOS and an Android version of the app with a wide variety of features such as sleeping tips and a sleep record. The paid version of the app ($5.99) provides a more in-depth sleep tracking record which can be shared with clinicians.

According to the CEO of SleepScore Labs, Colin Lawlor, they have been in the process of developing this technology far longer than the iPhone has existed. “We’re excited that for the first time, virtually everyone can get a truer picture of their sleep health for free and make smarter decisions about how to get a more restful night’s sleep.” he said in a statement.
